| Investment Approach |
Klesch has no fixed investment horizon. All investments are seen as long term
We focus primarily on acquiring businesses in the following sectors:
– metals and mining
– oil and gas
– power generation
– chemicals and plastics
– traditional industrials
– storage and logistics
|
| Commodity Investments |
Klesch has adopted a unique approach to making acquisitions in commodity-related businesses:
– We are willing to acquire businesses which are in relatively high cost and highly regulated economies
– We are prepared to absorb and manage the volatility risk inherent in commodities businesses as well as longer-tailed risk, such as environmental and pension liabilities
|
| Traditional Industrials and Infrastructure |
Klesch's approach to investing in traditional industrial businesses is based on acquiring 'non-core' assets from large corporations with diversified activities. The businesses can be stable or underperforming, and may be stand-alone companies or carve-outs
Our investments have varied widely in terms of size, and we have owned businesses in a variety of different industry sectors, including manufacturing, chemicals, leasing, transportation and telecom infrastructure

Klesch has acquired businesses from Aegon, Alcan, Deutsche Telekom, Dynegy, Shell and Tata, among others
